Former Head of Hrazdan Municipality Tax Department Arrested

On February 24, Samuel Grigoryan, the former head of the Tax Department of the Hrazdan Municipality, was arrested, and several employees have been interrogated. This was reported to NEWS.am by Mayis Poghosyan, spokesperson for Hrazdan Mayor Sevak Mikayelyan.

“In 2018, the Perfect Audit company discovered embezzlements amounting to millions within the Hrazdan Municipality. Only in the tax division, over the last three years, 138 million 534 thousand drams of embezzlement have been detected. These embezzlements were related to property tax and land tax, where citizens paid their dues, only to find out later that debts had accumulated in their names,” said the spokesperson.

Mayis Poghosyan noted that some employees of the tax department are still working at the municipality.
