Snow, Blizzard, and Ice: Ministry of Emergency Situations Reports on Road Conditions
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia reports that as of 08:20 on December 28, there are impassable roads in the territory of Armenia.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed.
The roads in the Spitak loops, Sotk-Karvachar, and Stepanavan-Odzun are difficult to traverse.
There is black ice present on the Alagyaz-Artik, Aparan-Aragats, Aparan-Kuchak, and Lanjik-Mastara roads.
In the cities of Gavar, Martuni, and Vardenis in the Gegharkunik region, as well as in the Aragats and Yeghvard regions, there is snowfall on the roads connecting Abovyan-Charetsavan and Vedi-Ararat.
Blizzard conditions are reported on the Aparan-Kuchak and Lanjik-Mastara roads, in the city of Gyumri in Shirak Province, in the village of Ashotzk, and in the region of Amasia.
Drivers are advised to travel in rural areas exclusively with winter tires.
According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is closed to all types of vehicles.
According to information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of North Ossetia, there are piled-up vehicles on the Russian side.
