Application Submitted to Detain Sedrak Kocharyan, Son of Robert Kocharyan
An application for the detention of Sedrak Kocharyan has been submitted to the court. It is expected that a similar application will be presented concerning the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan. This was reported by his lawyer, Aram Orbelyan.
According to the lawyer, Robert Kocharyan has been charged in connection with the powers he exercised while in office as president.
Earlier, the Anti-Corruption Committee reported that six individuals, including Robert Kocharyan and his son Sedrak Kocharyan, have been arrested within the framework of a criminal investigation. The committee stated that factual data has been obtained indicating that a person who held the presidential office, in agreement with close associates and by using his official position, has alienated state property on various fabricated grounds and acquired a number of valuable assets of significant public and economic importance at substantially lower market prices.
Additionally, according to reports from Haykakan Zhamanak, Robert Kocharyan is planned to be transferred to a hospital.
