Video: Two Men Arrested for Attempting Burglary in Armavir

The Criminal Police of the Armavir regional division received operational information indicating that two young men, residents of Ejmiatsin and Yerevan, were regularly attempting to commit residential burglaries, succeeding in some cases.

After conducting certain preparatory actions, the young men were placed under operational surveillance with the goal of apprehending them during their criminal activities.

On the evening of August 6, they took a "Honda" vehicle, driven by a 31-year-old resident of Ejmiatsin, and headed towards the capital. Under operational supervision, they entered two buildings on Ohanov Street and four buildings on Babajanyan Street, but were unable to open any apartment doors.

Subsequently, the men returned to the home of the 31-year-old, left the "Honda," and drove off in a "Mercedes" to Mashtots Street in Ejmiatsin. Here, they entered the vestibule of one of the buildings, but once again, the doors remained closed.

As they exited the vestibule and noticed the police, the young men attempted to flee, abandoning the "Mercedes" on Shiraz Street in Ejmiatsin.

The escape was short-lived. Around 11 PM, both individuals were arrested in various streets of Ejmiatsin and taken to the Criminal Police of the Armavir regional division. The "Mercedes" was also secured on Shiraz Street.

A criminal case was initiated in the investigation department of Vagharsapat. Further investigations revealed that the men had previously committed at least two residential burglaries in Yerevan and Ejmiatsin, as well as several attempts.

Both have been detained. The investigation continues.
