Video: Residents Clash with Employees of Former Deputy Mayor's Company in Arinj
A video has surfaced showing a group of citizens arguing and hurling insults at each other. The footage reveals that the altercation escalated into a physical confrontation.
The incident occurred in the Khachatur Abovyan neighborhood of Arinj. According to local resident Alla Mkhitaryan, the participants in the dispute included employees of a construction company linked to former Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Vahe Nikoyan and the neighborhood residents.
Mkhitaryan claims that Vahe Nikoyan illegally constructed two eight-story buildings without proper sewage system installation, which are now being prepared for exploitation. The company is now set to destroy the narrow street of the neighborhood in order to lay sewage pipes in a prohibited area.
Vahe Nikoyan, a wealthy individual, served as the deputy to Taron Margaryan. The prosecution deems his property illegal and is demanding the Anti-Corruption Court to confiscate the allegedly unlawfully acquired assets of Vahe Nikoyan and a related individual, in favor of the Republic of Armenia.
Alla Mkhitaryan asserts that one of the shareholders of the construction company 'N A Construction' that developed the eight-story buildings is Vahe Nikoyan's mother, Seda Safaryan, while the other is the former head of Ayric community, Artyom Shaboyan.
