Multi Wellness Challenges Yerevan City Hall's Decision

 The Multi Wellness Center is contesting a decision by the Yerevan City Hall through judicial means, which recently deprived the company of its development rights and transferred the property to the community.

According to data from the legal information system, a representative of Multi Wellness is requesting the court to declare invalid the transaction conducted by the Mayor of Yerevan on June 8, whereby the municipality unilaterally terminated the contract signed with the detained businessman Gagik Tsarukyan.

Tsarukyan's lawyer is also demanding the court declare the Cadastre's decision invalid, which on July 14 of this year terminated Multi Wellness's construction rights and fully registered the property as the property of the Yerevan community. The Cadastre has not commented on their decision.

Weeks ago, Yerevan City Hall terminated Tsarukyan's lease agreement for the Multi Wellness property. Last weekend, Mayor Tigran Avinyan announced it had reopened under a new name and will operate under the oversight of city authorities. Meanwhile, the company had leased the land with development rights from city authorities under a soil lease agreement dating back to 2016, valid until 2065. However, Avinyan took not only the land from Tsarukyan but also the buildings constructed on it and the interior assets.

The City Hall has not detailed the rationale for these changes, nor whether there are provisions within the contract addressing such scenarios.
