‘You Won’t Steal Our Democracy’: Ioannisyan on Nationwide Resistance
‘Civil Society of Informed Citizens’ founder Daniel Ioannisyan writes:
“For the first time since the wars, I feel a sense of public mobilization. Various state bodies, NGOs, businessmen, media outlets, TV stations, radio stations, activists, and ordinary citizens are uniting to fight against electoral violations and Russian interference.
I would like to list some of those individuals and entities that are working/partnering with us:
- Citizens who send us information and evidence, most of whom do not want money for this: ‘spend that money elsewhere’ is how they phrase it.
- Those collecting evidence on electoral interference who risk their freedom in Russia.
- Advertising organizations that distribute our materials at cost and even free as part of our public awareness campaign.
- TV stations and radios that offer serious discounts on our videos (sometimes for free).
- Border guards distributing our leaflets for free.
- Bloggers who autonomously distribute our messages and individuals advertising our videos with their own means.
You are all treasures. You are all the resilience of this country. As long as you exist, no one will be able to steal our democracy (which, of course, still has much room to grow).”
