Conflict Topic: Pashinyan on Spreading Fake News
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has denied claims made by members of the 'Strong Armenia' alliance that the current government has committed to the resettlement of Azerbaijanis in Armenia. Recently, the leader of the 'Strong Armenia' alliance, Samvel Karapetyan, stated that the Armenian authorities have indeed taken on such obligations, emphasizing that 'if there is no such thing, let Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stand up and say it is a lie.'
During a press briefing held on May 22, in response to Samvel Karapetyan's statement, Prime Minister Pashinyan declared, 'It is a lie.' When asked if he guarantees that there will be no resettlement of Azerbaijanis in Armenia during his tenure, Pashinyan responded, 'I give guarantees, yes. I guarantee it, and this is related to the fact that I say the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh is closed, that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue will not continue, that there will be no topic of return concerning Nagorno-Karabakh, there will be no topic of return regarding Nakhchivan, there will be no topic regarding Baku, there will be no topic regarding Sumgait, there will be no topic regarding Ganja, and so on. Yes, I guarantee it; this is an absurd topic, this is a topic of conflict, this is not a topic of peace. And this is obvious. Again, it is a lie, and yes, I guarantee it.'
