Scandalous Recording: Supporter of 'Strong Armenia' Calls City Dwellers Worthless
As a result of actions taken by the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia, substantial evidence has emerged indicating that the head of the 'Strong Armenia' party in the city of Alaverdi, Lori province, has colluded with others to provide a number of voters with bribes in exchange for voting for their party in the National Assembly elections.
To conceal their criminal activities, the funds paid to the citizens receiving the bribes were reported as salaries for positions registered at various party offices. However, these individuals were not only not registered as employees, but they also did not perform any work aside from securing votes for themselves or their family members.
An investigation has been initiated by the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia, leading to the arrest of several individuals, and searches and other procedural actions have been conducted.
