Criminal Complaint Filed Against Nikol Pashinyan
Aram Vardevanyan, a candidate for the "Strong Armenia" party, has filed a criminal complaint demanding an investigation into threats made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan against his opponents. In his application, Vardevanyan recalls certain parts of Pashinyan's speeches during the election campaign, specifically statements such as “you cowardly bastards”, “I will crush all of you”, “I will stuff each and every one of you in appropriate places”, and similar expressions used by the Prime Minister towards his critics.
Vardevanyan assesses that these statements by Pashinyan contain the characteristics of crimes defined by several articles of the Criminal Code. He enumerates these articles, including public calls for violence, psychological influence, as well as public speech aimed at inciting hatred, discrimination, intolerance, or hostility.
In his complaint addressed to the Prosecutor General, he highlights that Nikol Pashinyan, using the influence derived from his office, has publicly justified violence against individuals based on their national origin, political and other beliefs.
