CEC Rejects Vardan Ghukasyan's Registration
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) rejected the registration of Vardan Ghukasyan, the head of the Democratic Option Party, who led the party's electoral list, due to the absence of necessary documents. Specifically, there was a lack of a certificate confirming citizenship of the Republic of Armenia for the past 4 years and a certificate regarding permanent residence in Armenia during the same period.
It is noteworthy that the CEC also rejected the registration of Tigran Urikhanyan, who heads the proportional list of the 'Alliance' party. The parties were given 48 hours to rectify the existing inaccuracies. However, it was noted that the relevant documents were not submitted.
The objections raised by Vardan Ghukasyan's lawyer were not accepted by the CEC.
