Macron to Visit Gyumri: Details

French President Emmanuel Macron will visit Gyumri on May 5 as part of a state visit, where he will attend a large-scale concert program.

According to the projects presented during today's government meeting, the executive will allocate around 393 million drams for the organization of the concert, which exceeds one million dollars.

The draft decision states: "On May 5, a large concert is planned at Vardanants Square in Gyumri, dedicated to the friendship between Armenia and France and the deepening of cultural cooperation. The concert program will feature Armenian and French thematic songs performed by renowned Armenian and French artists, accompanied by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra."

The venue for the event, Gyumri, was chosen due to the significant interest in French culture and language in the city. According to the government, this is connected to the considerable support provided by the French people and government in the aftermath of the 1988 earthquake for the city's restoration.
