Prosecutor's Office Demands the Confiscation of 12 Properties from Mkhitar Zakaryan
The Anti-Corruption Court has accepted the next petition from the Prosecutor General's Office regarding the confiscation of assets of illegal origin.
The Property Confiscation Division of the Prosecutor General's Office has submitted a demand to the court to confiscate 12 properties in favor of the Republic of Armenia from Mkhitar Zakaryan, the former head of the Meghri community and former MP, as well as individuals connected to him. Of these properties, 3 are located in Yerevan, 1 in the Ararat region’s J_rvej community, and 8 in the Syunik region’s Meghri community.
The demand also includes 1 vehicle and participation in 10 legal entities, along with a sum of 957 million 64 thousand drams as the remainder of illegal income. Additionally, there is an amount of 18 million 316 thousand drams that cannot be justified by Mkhitar Zakaryan's legitimate income, which has an illegal origin and has been transferred to a good-faith acquirer or cannot be identified and confiscated.
