Russia Transfers Intelligence Data to Iran: WP
Russia is transferring intelligence data to Iran regarding the deployment of U.S. military assets in the Middle East. This was reported by The Washington Post, citing three American officials.
According to the sources, the information concerns American military ships, aircraft, and other assets stationed in the region. The officials noted that this information could be utilized for targeting potential strikes against U.S. forces. They spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the matter.
One of the interlocutors assessed that this cooperation could be quite extensive. At the same time, it was noted that Iran’s military capability to independently identify the locations of U.S. forces has diminished shortly after the onset of military operations.
The Russian Embassy in Washington did not respond to the newspaper's inquiry. The CIA and the Pentagon also declined to comment. According to sources, China, despite its close ties with Iran, is currently not participating in providing such support to Tehran.
