‘Black people are not monkeys’: Protest during Trump’s speech
Democratic Congressman Al Green was removed from the House of Representatives during Trump’s State of the Union address. Green was holding a sign that read ‘Black people are not monkeys.’ This is not the first time the Democrat has attempted to disrupt a White House speech.
According to Politico, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise attempted to snatch the sign away, while Congressman Troy Nehls tried to calm Green down.
As Al Green was being escorted out of the chamber, Republican lawmakers and allies of the president chanted ‘USA! USA!’
