In the Worst Case, Your People Will Hang You: Medvedev
Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, has stated that the continuation of military operations is linked to the personal security of certain leaders in Ukraine. According to him, the end of the war could have various consequences for them.
“If hostilities cease, in the best case, you will be able to flee to one of the neighboring countries—I don’t know if it will be Poland, Great Britain, or any other European country that offers asylum. But in the worst case, yes, your own people will hang you—somewhere directly in Maidan,” said Dmitry Medvedev.
The Deputy Chairman cited the fates of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini, as well as the trials and executions of Nazi criminals, emphasizing that history demonstrates the consequences of political leaders' accountability.
