China Calls on U.S. to Remove Unilateral Tariffs, Vows to Defend Its Interests
China has urged the United States to eliminate unilateral tariffs imposed on trading partners, declaring its readiness to consistently defend its interests. This statement was made in an official announcement from the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China.
The ministry indicated that it is closely monitoring the U.S. Supreme Court's decision regarding tariffs and is currently conducting a comprehensive assessment of its content and potential consequences. Beijing has reaffirmed its position, emphasizing its permanent opposition to unilateral restrictive measures.
Officials in the Chinese Ministry of Commerce noted that the retaliatory tariffs imposed by the U.S., as well as tariffs related to fentanyl and other restrictions, violate international trade rules and U.S. domestic legislation. According to the announcement, such actions do not serve the mutual interests of both parties.
Beijing also highlighted that there are no winners in trade conflicts, and protectionist policies do not provide long-term solutions.
