Georgia Sets Symbolic Tariff for Oil Products Transiting from Azerbaijan to Armenia
Georgia has established a symbolic fee for the transportation of oil products from Azerbaijan to Armenia. This was stated in a press release from the Ministry of Economy of Georgia, according to Sputnik-Georgia.
At the beginning of December 2025, Georgia had provided free transportation for the transit of oil from Azerbaijan through its territory to Armenia, but the subsequent batch was transported at standard rates, which caused dissatisfaction in Armenia.
The issue of tariffs became a key topic of discussion during a meeting between Mariam Kvriqishvili, Georgia's Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, and Davit Khudatyan, Armenia's Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.
Khudatyan expressed gratitude to his Georgian counterpart for the friendly decision of the Georgian government to establish a symbolic tariff for the transportation of oil products from Azerbaijan to Armenia.
During the meeting, it was also noted that both countries are paying special attention to the development of freight transport and passenger transport.
The Georgian side provided information about large transport infrastructure projects being implemented in Georgia, whose full operation will significantly improve connectivity between the two countries, enhance the transit of cargo from Armenia, and strengthen Georgia's role as a regional transport hub.
It was emphasized that one of Georgia's main priorities is the development of safe, reliable, and competitive transport routes.
