Europe is Trying to Drive a Wedge Between Russia and the USA: Lavrov
Europe is trying to "drive a wedge" between Russia and the USA, stated Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
“Europe has attempted and continues to try to ‘drive a wedge’ between Russia and the USA, perceiving a certain bias in the US policy during President Trump’s era, as they see it, favoring Russia at the expense of European interests,” he said.
According to Lavrov, the term “interests” is very apt in this context.
“When a country, like Russia does, supports its interests with our friends in China, the United Arab Emirates, India, and other countries, it is treated accordingly,” noted the Russian Foreign Minister.
Lavrov added that “when, as is the case with most European elites, they have replaced their interests with the interests of the Ukrainian regime and are making full use of this regime to fight against Russia, no longer hiding this, and are preparing for war with their direct involvement, then possibly that is how they will be treated in return.”
