Russia and Ukraine Source Drone Components from the Same Chinese Factories: FT

Russia and Ukraine are purchasing drone parts from the same Chinese factories, according to the Financial Times. The article notes that both countries are actively expanding their drone production capacities primarily using Chinese-made components, as they are three times cheaper than those from Western counterparts. Moreover, they often buy processors, cameras, and engines from the same Chinese suppliers.

One of Ukraine's largest drone manufacturers, TAF Industries, founder Oleksandr Yakovenko told the publication that during numerous visits to Chinese factories, he observed that factory managers are increasingly planning his arrival and departure down to the minute and second. The FT reported that at times, they would ask him to wait nearby, escorting him through side doors, service corridors, or empty consulting rooms. All of this was done to prevent him from encountering Russians visiting the factory.
