Some Use the Church as a Base Against the Republic of Armenia, We Will Not Allow It: Pashinyan
We have long been praying to God for peace, but we understood that we must create that peace alongside our decisions and actions. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“Today we went to tell Christ that we are acting according to His covenant and creating the world. Some are trying to use the Armenian Apostolic Church as a base for actions against the Republic of Armenia. We will not allow this. The government has not acted, does not act, and will never act against the Church.
Jesus Christ is coming out of isolation. Together with ten bishops, we signed a document of revival. We must protect our spiritual fathers just as they stood with our people shoulder to shoulder. None of the followers of our Church declares themselves innocent. The text clearly states that everyone accepts their guilt. We also accept our responsibility; we have left our church alone with the divider. But we will not leave Jesus Christ alone.
Many consider our actions a political act, but we kneel before the altar and ask for forgiveness for our sins. This is not a political act,” said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
