Two Options for the Future Management of HЕЦ: Nikol Pashinyan
There are two options for the future management of HЕЦ (Hydro-Electric Power Station). Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during a government briefing, detailing the options under discussion.
“Option one: HЕЦ becomes state property and is entrusted to certified management. The second option is that it is privatized and managed by a reputable international company with experience in this field. For me, the preferred option is the first one, but since there are payments to be made in the first option, a lot now depends on what objective price is determined for HЕЦ. If that price is bearable for the state budget, I would prefer it to be 100 percent state property and entrusted to a professional management company. If it turns out that, for any reason, this is not feasible, we will proceed with the second option, but our Plan A is the first one, meaning that the owner should be the Republic of Armenia,” he said.
