Mass Protests in Germany: Injuries Reported
Protests have erupted in Germany against the formation of a youth organization by the far-right party, Alternative for Germany (AfD). Injuries have been reported as demonstrators voiced their dissent.
According to DW, the AfD held its founding congress where it established a new youth organization called Generation Deutschland (GD). Over 800 participants accepted the youth charter, which outlines the roles and responsibilities of GD.
Unlike its predecessor, 'Young Alternative,' the new organization is intended to have a close association with AfD. This gathering was met with mass protests.
Several individuals sustained minor injuries and were taken to the university hospital in the city, where protests against the new organization continued. The German police reported that 10-15 officers also suffered minor injuries during the protests.
