Georgi Papoyan Discusses Unimpeded Passage of Armenian Brandy Trucks Through Georgia with Tbilisi Counterpart
The Minister of Economy of Armenia, Georgi Papoyan, met with David Songulashvili, the Minister of Agriculture and Environment of Georgia, in Tbilisi. The meeting also included Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan.
During the discussions, issues concerning the quick and unimpeded passage of trucks loaded with Armenian brandy through Georgian territory were addressed, as well as the mutual recognition of the results of isotopic composition testing of cognac.
It is worth mentioning that on May 13, cognac producers held a protest in front of the Georgian Embassy in Armenia, voicing their concerns that the Georgian side was creating obstacles for the passage of cargo trucks from Armenia to Russia. Armenian entrepreneurs insisted that their cognac undergo laboratory testing in Georgia, while the trucks were left waiting at the Georgian border crossing for several weeks.
