State of Emergency in Pakistan: Heavy Explosion Leaves Casualties
At least 12 people have died and 21 others have been injured following an explosion near the Supreme Court building in Kacheri, Pakistan. According to reports from Geo News, the explosive device was planted in a vehicle parked close to the court's premises. Among the injured are lawyers.
After the explosion, the building was evacuated, and court sessions were temporarily suspended. Emergency responders, including the Deputy Inspector General of Islamabad, the Chief Commissioner, and a forensic team, arrived at the scene.
Rescuers and law enforcement officials transported the victims and the injured to hospitals, while a state of emergency has been declared at the PIMS medical center in the capital.
