Israel Dismisses Erdoğan's Latest PR Move with Contempt, Foreign Ministry
The Israeli Foreign Ministry has characterized the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's decision to issue arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and several senior Israeli officials as a "latest PR move" based on accusations of genocide in Gaza.
The ministry noted that under Erdoğan's tenure, the Turkish judicial system has become a tool for repressing dissenters and carrying out violent repression against journalists, judges, and mayors.
It was also recalled that the same Istanbul prosecutor had recently initiated the arrest of a mayor for opposing Erdoğan.
"Now, the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office has issued arrest warrants against Israeli leaders and senior officials. Israel resolutely and contemptuously dismisses this latest PR move by the tyrant Erdoğan," stated the Foreign Ministry's press service.
