Aid to Artsakh Residents from Russia Must Be Coordinated with Us - Torosyan
The support directed towards individuals forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh by the Russian state and public sector must be coordinated with the Armenian Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. This was stated today by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Arsen Torosyan, during a meeting with Sergei Kopirkin, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation. The information was provided by the ministry's press service.
“The assistance directed to those forcibly displaced from Artsakh by the Russian state and public sector must be coordinated with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, so that the aid can be distributed more effectively to families,” the statement reads.
During the meeting, Torosyan also addressed the ongoing social support, housing provision, and employment programs for individuals forcibly displaced from Artsakh. Ambassador Kopirkin emphasized the importance of cooperation in the field of labor and social protection and expressed readiness to make efforts in developing bilateral relations.
It was noted that several mutual interest issues in the field of labor and social protection were also discussed with the ambassador. The importance of cooperation between the two countries in bilateral and multilateral formats, particularly within the frameworks of the CIS, EAEU, and the UN, was emphasized.
It should be added that large-scale displacement from Artsakh began in August of this year, and since then, more than 3,300 families have received assistance in various regions of Armenia.
