Increased Risk of Fires and Explosions at Gas Stations
Given the high thermal conditions recorded in the territory of Armenia in recent days, as well as the significant increase in the risk of fires and explosions, the State Inspectorate for Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety urges gas station and petrol station operators, their responsible officials, and citizens to:
- Exercise maximum vigilance and high legal awareness,
- Strictly monitor compliance with fire safety regulations in and around petrol and gas stations,
- Immediately eliminate any instances of smoking and open flames,
- Ensure daily surveillance of the areas and control with necessary technical measures.
The State Inspectorate reports that in the past week, there has been a significant increase in citizen complaints related to this sector, mainly concerning incidents of smoking, irresponsible behavior, and disregard for safety regulations. The Inspectorate urges not to ignore the created fire hazard situation and to take all preventive measures to avert potential dangers and ensure the safety of citizens, personnel, and property.
“Demonstrate high responsibility and legal awareness, thereby contributing to the prevention of fires and man-made hazards,” the statement from the Inspectorate reads.
