Government Decides Which Company Will Regulate the Gaming Sector

The operator for regulating Armenia's gaming sector will be Random Systems International Limited, registered in Malta, which also operates in Georgia. This decision was made at the Government's session on August 6.

During the presentation of the project, Edward Hakobyan, the acting head of the State Revenue Committee, mentioned that reforms were planned for 2024 under the "Law on Regulation of Gaming Activities," including the introduction of new oversight tools within the framework of public-private partnership. Hakobyan stated that a competition was held after the approval of this law, with participation from three foreign organizations.

"As a result of the competition, Random Systems International Limited was declared the winner, which has relevant experience and operates as a gaming regulation operator in neighboring Georgia," Hakobyan said, emphasizing that the Committee aims to create modern and effective digital mechanisms and control tools with this company.

Hakobyan also informed that the winning company is obligated to fully implement the electronic management system within six months of the decision coming into force.
