Russia Withdraws from Treaty
Russia no longer considers itself bound by self-imposed limitations on the deployment of intermediate and short-range land-based missiles, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced.
“The actions of the collective West, taken together, lead to the formation and accumulation of destabilizing missile potential in regions adjacent to the Russian Federation, posing an immediate threat to the security of our country and of a strategic nature. Overall, such a development of events carries serious negative implications and significant harmful consequences for regional and global stability, including a dangerous escalation of tensions between nuclear powers,” the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
