White House on Trump's Complaints
US President Donald Trump is dissatisfied with France, the United Kingdom, and Canada regarding their plans to recognize the state of Palestine, announced White House Press Secretary Karen Levitt, according to Politico.
“The President has expressed his dissatisfaction and disagreement with the leaders of France, the United Kingdom, and Canada,” Levitt said.
According to the White House press secretary, Trump believes that such a stance “rewards” the Palestinian militant group Hamas at a time when it is “a real obstacle to a ceasefire and the release of all hostages.”
Additionally, a statement from the office of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that the UK would recognize Palestine ahead of the upcoming UN General Assembly in September.
