Russia to Take Measures for Grain Cargo Transits through Lars Checkpoint at Armenia's Request
The Russian authorities have been instructed to take additional measures to facilitate the transportation of grain cargo to Armenia via the Upper Lars checkpoint on the border with Georgia. This was announced by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk.
“At Armenia's request, the competent authorities of the Russian Federation have been tasked with implementing additional measures to organize the passage of grain trucks from Russia to the Republic of Armenia through Upper Lars, which had been restricted due to bad weather and landslides. We are trying to minimize delays in supplying essential grains to Armenia,” Overchuk told reporters according to РИА Новости.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations announced a temporary ban on all types of vehicles on the Rzhev Military Road due to the risk of landslides, effective from July 31 at 18:40 until August 1 at 06:40.
