Game Rules Will Change for Russia: US Senator
Russia has learned to circumvent sanctions, but US President Donald Trump will change the approach to target countries buying energy resources from it, said Senator Lindsey Graham.
"It seems you do not understand that President Trump is changing the game rules and is prepared to impose tariffs on countries that buy your oil and gas, supporting your military machine. You may want to reach out to those countries soon to find out if they view this as seriously as you do," the Republican senator wrote on his X account.
Graham is one of the authors of the plan for strict restrictions against Russia. According to the initiative, if a country buys fuel from Russia and does not aid Ukraine, a 500% tariff will be imposed on its products in the US. Among the possible candidates for harsh sanctions, the senator mentioned India and China, suggesting that the tariff could be as high as 100%.
