What is known about the crash of the Ан-24 in Amur Region: TASS has compiled the main important information about the incident.
Circumstances of the tragedy. The airline's Ан-24, which was on the Khabarovsk-Blagoveshchensk-Tinda route, lost contact at a control point located a few kilometers from its destination. The aircraft reportedly did not signal any potential problems and, according to reports, disappeared from radar after entering the second circuit for landing.
According to aviation rescuers, the plane made a landing under conditions of 10-point cloud cover and was surrounded by mountains. The weather in the airport area was considered suitable for accepting flights.
Number of passengers. The aircraft had approximately 50 people on board according to various data, including 6 crew members. Amur Region Governor Vasily Orlov spoke about 43 passengers, including 5 children. Emergency services reported that there were 40 passengers, including 2 children. Five employees of the Russian Railways were on the plane. A citizen of China was also among the victims.
