Car Goes Off Road and Ends Up in Lake Sevan

On July 24, at 13:15, the crisis management center of the Gegharkunik regional rescue service received a call that an accident had occurred on the Sevan-Gavar highway, and assistance from rescuers was needed.

A team from one of the special water rescue and firefighting units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was found that a 'Mercedes-Benz' vehicle had gone off the road approximately 4 kilometers from the Sevan-Gavar highway and was partially submerged in Lake Sevan.

Before the rescuers arrived, three individuals had already been pulled from the vehicle by local forces. The rescuers disabled the car's power, closed the gas tank valve, extracted one individual from the vehicle, and brought them to an ambulance.
