New UK Sanctions Strike Russia
The United Kingdom has imposed new sanctions against Russia's oil industry. This information comes from a statement released on the UK government’s website.
According to reports, the new sanctions are aimed at "reducing Putin’s financial investments in the war against Ukraine and weakening his 'shadow fleet.'" It is noted that the sanctions target Russia's energy sector, limiting its access to major oil revenues.
The sanctions specifically affect 135 oil tankers that have transported $24 billion worth of oil since the beginning of 2024.
