The European Union Firmly Supports Armenia, Says President of the European Council
The European Union firmly supports Armenia's ambitious reform agenda. This was stated by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, on his page on X.
"We highly appreciate Armenia's efforts to ensure stability in the South Caucasus, particularly its continuous engagement in peace negotiations with Azerbaijan and steps towards normalizing relations with Turkey. The recently agreed partnership program between the EU and Armenia opens a new chapter in our relations, contributing to closer regional and economic ties. We are eagerly looking forward to when Armenia will host the summit of the European Political Community in 2026," wrote the President of the European Council.
As part of the "Global Gateway" strategy, EU investments in Armenia are now projected to reach €2.5 billion, enhancing inclusive growth and connectivity. Additionally, to support Armenia's information ecosystem, the EU has announced a new package of €1.5 million to empower independent media.
