Iran's Foreign Ministry on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Peace Agreement
Iran supports the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace agreement. This was stated by the spokesperson of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baghaei, during a press conference, as reported by the Tasnim agency.
“Regarding the issue between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, we have always emphasized our support for the peace process between the two countries and encouraged both sides to sign a peace agreement as soon as possible. Peace and stability in the South Caucasus region are of strategic importance for the Islamic Republic of Iran. We maintain good and balanced relations with both countries, Armenia and Azerbaijan, and we emphasize the continuity of friendly policies,” noted the Iranian Foreign Ministry official.
