I Am Here with a Clear Message: EU Ready for This, Says Kaja Kallas
People-to-people contacts play a key role in our relationships. This is why we are developing dialogue on visa liberalization.
This was announced by Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, during a meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
"I am pleased to announce that the European Commission has accepted the proposal for an action plan on visa liberalization, and when the conditions are met, the process will be completed, bringing the European Union and Armenia closer together," she said.
According to her, the European Union is ready to deepen cooperation with Armenia.
"I am pleased to announce a political agreement between negotiating parties on a new partnership agenda that defines our priorities in the fields of economic development, security, and resilience. In this regard, the EU is providing 270 million euros for the 'Resilience and Growth' program for the years 2024-2027. This aims to support businesses in improving connectivity between Armenia and the European Union and contributes to efforts aimed at reforms," she noted.
Kallas emphasized that Armenia-EU relations are not limited to economic ties. The EU also provides housing and psychosocial support to those displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.
