Vahan Shirghanyan Has Died
Vahan Shirghanyan, the former Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia, has passed away. According to reports, he died after a long illness. He would have turned 78 on July 15.
It is noteworthy that in December 2015, Shirghanyan was arrested and subsequently detained in connection with a dismantled "armed criminal group" case in Yerevan. He was released in June 2018.
Shirghanyan was a member of the Supreme Council of Armenia, representing the "Armenian National Movement" faction, and later served as Deputy Minister of Defense.
