I Was Poisoned with Arsenic and Mercury: Turkish Foreign Minister
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has reported that an attempt was made to poison him with arsenic and mercury four to five years ago. This was announced by the 24TV television channel.
“It was a severe poisoning with arsenic and mercury. The poisoning occurred somewhere, and it was later revealed through tests. This happened four to five years ago,” Fidan stated.
The Turkish minister did not specify who could have carried out the poisoning attempt. However, he mentioned that “enemies exist not only within the country but also abroad.”
Fidan assumed the position of foreign minister in 2023, after previously leading Turkey's National Intelligence Organization.
