Fine Imposed on Lawyer for Spitting on Russian Consulate Sign
A Swiss lawyer has been fined $8,300 for spitting on the sign of the Russian Consulate in Bern. The lawyer, associated with a Swiss government-related firm, reportedly spat on the sign while out for a run in the evening. According to reports, this action was an expression of his protest regarding the conflict in Ukraine.
The prosecutor's office found the man guilty of assaulting a foreign state symbol and imposed a fine of 6,900 Swiss francs (approximately $8,300).
