India Plans to Close Airspace for Pakistan
India is considering the possibility of closing its airspace to Pakistani carriers and banning Pakistani vessels from accessing Indian ports. This was reported by The Economic Times, citing government sources.
The publication notes that, in such a case, Pakistan will have to route its aircraft through China or Sri Lanka to reach destinations in Southeast Asia. It is worth mentioning that earlier, Pakistan had closed its airspace to India in response to measures taken by New Delhi following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
