Bayramov on the Burning of Azerbaijan and Turkey's Flags
In Baku, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, stated today during a joint press conference with the EU foreign minister that Azerbaijan anticipates that Armenia will take appropriate measures to eliminate territorial claims against Azerbaijan enshrined in the Constitution and to dissolve the OSCE Minsk Group.
In addition to these demands, Bayramov called for actions to recognize the burning of Azerbaijan and Turkey's flags as a crime. He emphasized, “The revanchist sentiments in Armenia are a serious cause for concern. I would like to highlight the recent incidents related to the burning of Azerbaijan and Turkey's flags. Unfortunately, a similar incident also occurred yesterday in France. We expect that the relevant authorities of these countries will take decisive actions to ensure that the burning of another country’s attributes is recognized as a crime.”
The EU foreign minister, in turn, stated that Azerbaijan is an important partner of the EU in the region. “We have expectations regarding the strengthening of our relations,” said the European High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, during a meeting with President Aliyev.
