Who Will Be Exempt from Property Tax
A property tax exemption will be established in Yerevan for residential real estate tax and vehicle property tax, amounting to 41,429,573 AMD, relieving the payment of calculated existing tax obligations and accrued penalties. The proposal is included in the agenda of the Yerevan City Council meeting scheduled for tomorrow.
The payment will be made from the community budget instead of the property tax payer. The established exemptions will apply to the following groups of citizens: members of families of those who were killed, wounded, or died in subsequent years from injuries sustained during military actions in Artsakh and in the Republic of Armenia, or while performing military duty or special assignments along the line of contact with the adversary or due to adversary’s aggressive actions; 1st and 2nd group war veterans with disabilities from the wars in Artsakh and Armenia, who acquired residential real estate and/or vehicles subject to property tax before the entry into force of decision No. 690-N of the Yerevan City Council on December 27, 2022; individuals captured, recognized as missing, or deceased due to military actions in the Republic of Armenia, as well as their family members.
