Iran Fully Prepared, Says Bagheri
The Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, has stated that the country is fully prepared to respond to any threat with all its might, according to Mehr News Agency.
“All our efforts should be aimed at deterrence, effective defense, sustainable security, stability, and peace. Iran seeks to establish peace and security in the region,” he emphasized, adding that his country does not aspire to acquire nuclear weapons.
Commenting on the negotiations between Iran and the United States regarding the country’s nuclear program, the general noted that Iran will not negotiate directly but is ready to resume indirect nuclear talks with the U.S. “In Iran's previous nuclear negotiations, the United States was the most slanderous and treacherous party,” he stated.
