G7 Countries Express Concern
We are opposed to any unilateral actions that threaten peace and stability, including the use of force and coercion. These growing and destabilizing actions increase tensions in the Taiwan Strait and endanger global security and prosperity. The G7 members and the broader international community are invested in maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
We, the Foreign Ministers of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, as well as the EU High Representative, express deep concern regarding China's provocative actions, particularly the recent large-scale military exercises around Taiwan. The military drills conducted by the Chinese People's Liberation Army near Taiwan raise alarm among the G7 countries. This is stated in the joint declaration of the heads of the foreign affairs offices of the G7.
