Trump's Adviser Says When Phone Call with Putin Will Take Place
The phone call between newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin could take place "in the coming days or weeks," said Trump's national security adviser Mike Waltz, according to RIA Novosti.
“We have not yet determined the exact format (of the future meeting), but we are working in that direction. I expect that at least in the coming days or weeks the call will happen. This will be the first step from which we will move forward,” Waltz stated during an appearance on ABC.
He also added that one of the key issues in the context of resolving the conflict in Ukraine will be stabilizing the situation on the battlefield. Earlier, Trump announced that Russian leader Vladimir Putin has expressed a desire to meet with him and that both sides are preparing for the meeting.
