Is Norway Preparing for War? Bomb Shelters Under Construction Amidst Russian Threats
“All new buildings in Norway will include bomb shelters for a 'worst-case scenario' amidst threats from Russian President Putin directed at NATO,” reports indicate. The plans involve the construction of over 1,000 bomb shelters.
This marks the first time since 1998 that Norway will begin building bomb shelters due to threats from Russia. “There are increasing uncertainties around us. We must take care of our citizens and consider the worst scenarios, such as war or armed attacks,” stated Justice Minister Emilie Mehl.
The government plans to equip two types of shelters to protect against radioactive and chemical agents, as well as explosives. Previously, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić expressed concern about the state of bomb shelter systems due to the risks of nuclear warfare, asserting that President Vladimir Putin would not hesitate to use nuclear weapons if Russia faces a threat.
Earlier, Russia had also warned Europe that bomb shelters would not save them from 'Oreshnik'.
