Spitak Passes Closed for Cargo Trucks with Trailers

The Rescue Service reports that there are closed roads in the territory of the Republic of Armenia. The road from the "Ambert" high mountain meteorological station to Kary Lake is closed in the Aragatsotn region.

The Spitak passes are closed for cargo trucks with trailers. The Vardenyats Pass is only passable for cargo trucks with trailers equipped with snow chains.

There is black ice present on the roadways of the elevated areas of Syunik region, as well as in Shirak, Gegharkunik regions, and the road sections in Talin, Aragats, Aparan, and vicinity of Garni. Additionally, there is black ice from the Tigranashen passes to the Yerasx segment.

Drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.

Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed only for cargo trucks. Due to weather conditions, the Bavra checkpoint (from the Georgian side) is closed for cargo trucks with trailers.
